About

Who we are and what we are doing

Who are we?

We are group of 7 engineers who love challenging ourselves through painful excursions that most other people would dread doing. Through the Mongol Rally we get to combine this weird obsession with our adoration for anything car related as well as raising money for causes we truly believe in.

What is the Mongol Rally?

The Mongol Rally is classified as the Greatest Adventure on the Planet. It involves travelling around 10,000 miles from Leamington to Mongolia across a multitude of countries in a car that is as sh*t as humanly possible. It also has to have an engine size under 1000cc but they may allow up to 1200cc if the car is ridiculous enough. Each car is also required to raise at least £1000 for charity but we aim to smash this target!

What cars are we using?

Now, our name my seem weird and meaningless but it actually comes straight from the cars themselves.

SpAM - Special Agent Micra

2002 Nissan Micra

Pug

1991 Peugeot 205

The Mystery Machine

Exactly what it says... We don't know! Keep an eye on our social media for info on this vehicle and possibly some competitions...

What charities are we supporting?

For the Rally we are supporting 4 charities:

  • Cool Earth

  • Shelterbox

  • Engineers Without Borders

  • Mind

Cool Earth is the dedicated charity for the Mongol Rally but still aligns heavily with our values. The others were picked by ourselves and mean a lot to us personally so we would really appreciate looking to our charity page and consider donating.

How will we raise the money?

Not only are we taking on this grueling task of driving across part of the world in 3 bangers, we plan on doing a multitude of other things to fundraise! This will vary from bake sales to running competitive events all the way to more horrific tasks like 24hr hikes and hundreds of miles long cycles. We hope to inspire and raise awareness for these charities in as many ways as possible hopefully encouraging you to donate. Keep checking our event page for more info!
